Troy Woollen is an associate attorney, trademark and copyright law, and tax law and general corporate law. As an intellectual property attorney, he regularly advises and represents clients in client counseling relating to clearance, registration, assignment, and protection of trademarks, and such other intellectual property issues as domain name disputes and licensing programs. He also assists with merger and acquisition transactions; corporate financing; business planning and formation; tax structuring of transactions; and negotiation and documentation of commercial contracts and licensing agreements.

Clients who he serves include among others, manufacturing companies, durable medical equipment and pharmaceutical companies, financial services firms, and private equity funds, as well as churches, public charities and private foundations.

Personal and Professional Affiliations:

Mr. Woollen is a member of the American Bar Association, and its Section of Business Law. He and his wife are active in First Alliance Church of Atlanta. He regularly provides pro bono legal assistance to members of Atlanta's immigrant community. He is a passionate supporter of entrepreneurship and has helped teach courses on that subject for gifted high school students in rural Nebraska.

Representative Experience:

Advised a national nonprofit organization on trademark matters relating to its name change and complete rebranding. The organization had operated under its original name for more than 35 years prior to its rebranding, and nearly one-half million people watch, listen, or log onto its media outreach every week.

Served as IP counsel to the anonymous sponsor of the nationally prominent GodSpeaks® billboard campaign, through which sayings appeared on some 10,000 distinctive black and white billboards in 200 cities across America.

Advises an Atlanta-based ministry organization with respect to its worldwide intellectual property portfolio, which includes trademark registrations in the U.S., Canada, and overseas. The ministry is a large non-profit organization with an international reach that includes programs in more than 100 languages and reaches more than 160 countries worldwide.

Represented a start-up non-profit university in a trademark infringement and Internet domain-name dispute with a for-profit education company.

Represented a privately-held company in a trademark infringement dispute against a competitor company that adopted a trade name and trademarks confusingly similar to our client's long-held trademarks.
